Today about 1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime. Currently there are about 2.6 million breast cancer survivors and with advances in treatments that number is expected to grow. Chances are you will have clients that have experienced this disease. Upon diagnosis, each individual has choices to make concerning their treatments and their reconstruction. There is great variation in surgical and reconstruction techniques, radiation alternatives and chemotherapy. The choices made by each individual and their medical team, impact what muscles have been disturbed and how they rehabilitate their bodies.
